Safiya is a belly dancer specializing in Egyptian cabaret, with a personal passion for the drum solo. She has over a decade of experience and learned the core of her technique in Southern California. Safiya is the resident belly dancer at Spartacus, a Greek restaurant in Durham and Mosaic, a Moroccan-themed wine lounge in downtown Raleigh. She has performed at a variety of private events, restaurants, night clubs, haflas, charity functions and galas in the local area as well as Ohio, Tallahassee FL, OBX, and several locations through NC, VA, and SC.
Safiya is known for her professional, yet warm and approachable style. All shows are high quality and family friendly and may feature any of a variety of props including sword, Isis wings, feather fans, veil, and zills (finger cymbals). She is available to perform at private parties, children’s parties, weddings, corporate functions and other special events.
